Foot Orthotic Consensus Project
Welcome to the foot orthoses consensus project
There are many different foot orthotics available for clinical use. There are many different prescription variables for use with foot orthotics. There are many different clinical tests to determine what sort of foot orthotics are could be used. There are many different custom made and prefabricated foot orthotics on the market, with them all claiming to be the best. There is very little evidence to guide clinical decision making. There are many theories and ideas underpinning the use of foot orthotics in clinical practice.
In this context, the Foot Orthotic Consensus Project is attempting to bring together a consensus, and in absence of a consensus, come up with a statement of where the differences are.
How to contribute
Discussions leading to the consensus statements or statements of differences are held in a public forum on Podiatry Arena. All contributions are welcome to add to the knowledge base.
